January 2008

Not a busy month yet, still sad about leaving Holland. My agency sent me to Singapore for a few meetings and I also did a few testshoots. Fell in love with that girl, Mikaela from Phantom Singapore.

February 2008

Got more and more assignments in Jakarta, and Ive got to shoot my first commercial for a department store this month! It was a whole new experience, lack of sleep, lots of stress, crews, and digital retouching, brand new world :) Meanwhile, my bestfriend/beloved boy visited me (see him on far left side of the picture), and see that 3rd guy? He's the one I started dating the month after ;)

My first exhibition in Jakarta! It was a group exhibition, nothing fancy, but I'm so proud of it! Then a shoot in Bali, it was a nice getaway from busy, traffic-jammy Jakarta

Woohooo! Taking on the male magazines! My first cover of maxim with Mikaela and a fashion editorial on Esquire <3

Me having fun with my beloved assistants, and then it was MY turn to be featured on maxim :p

Still being in love everyday with P, on the other hand I got more and more stress in commercial photography. Not a big fan of medium format cameras.

September 2008

An awesome trip to Hong Kong for a supercool assignment! Got shoot the editorial spread featuring the latest Cruise collection from Louis Vuitton. Also amazing exhibition and dinner held by LV Asia and shopping spree after shoot :D

October 2008

Probably my favorite time of the whole year, visited NL for almost 3 weeks and went to Milan too! Had a blast with my beloved bestfriend and got to shoot my favorite models ever <3 <3 <3

November 2008

I got my first cover of Harper's!! Omg I still remember dancing with joy on that day. I and P also got a new housemate in the apartment, A cute and fluffy one!

December 2008

Had another group exhibition sponsored by The Indonesian Fashion Designers Council, my mother visited me this month and I had a wonderful birthday dinner with her, my bf and bestfriends :)

So far it's been an amazing year, I'm so grateful for everything and everyone for their love and support. Sure there has been lots of work stress, lack of sleep and times when I will kill a rabbit for a ticket back to EU, but eventually everything keeps reminding me to be grateful and responsible for my choice.

Hope 2009 will also be a good, even better year for everyone :)

Hey lovers

I'm looking for a place to stay in Utrecht in october :) I'm coming back for a month (and a half?) <3 <3 Will be traveling (mainly working) in Milan and Paris too, and shooting shooting shooting alot. So if you happen to have (or know anyone who has) a place for temporary rent, let me know.

A few things have made me really excited recently, aside from I'm going to see you all my beloved :) :) I'm also moving to a bigger space soon (so long shoebox apartment). For months since I came back here, I could only shoot in the (agency's) studio because my place is just too ridiculously small to hold a photoshoot, but the new apartment is pretty spacey -not bigger than my old house in Utrecht for sure, but just enough :) I might even buy a lamp if I got enough money (I don't own a lamp here at all, everything belongs to The Looop) and might finally do the thing I haven't done in such a long while... TESTING!!! Ah, the joy of intimate photoshoots.

On a more personal note, I am in love with someone who moved somewhere else. The story of my life.

wow man, it's been awhile :)

my new life consists of getting busy, getting tired, and getting so worn off. It's 2:40 am right now in Jakarta and I'm writing this in a little hotel room where I and my soulmate had to stay in tonight. I have a shitload of pictures to work on with tight deadlines, and a shoot in less than six hours, but I can't manage to do either working or sleeping right now.

I'm loving my *asian* life, and hating it at the same time. I love the busy part of it, and hating the fact that I miss Utrecht (and Amsterdam, and Rotterdam, and Antwerp and Paris and the whole Europe) in every passing second when I'm not working. I've been feeding myself with work and more work, but when a day is free and I have more than five seconds to think about myself, I will miss my old apartment, and smullers and swirls and the bloody crowded Utrecht CS in the afternoon.

So I'm saving up to be back for at least a month this fall :)

I hope I have more time to update :( I'm on facebook alot though, if you guys are there too, add me there :) new pics are there too!

I miss you guys, terribly.

5 days before my leaving. And my room is still a mess. I am a mess.

Tomorrow I have to fix and arrange things with the city hall (stating that I will leave for good, and de-registering from the country), T-Mobile (stopping my contract), Casema (same reason), and help a friend. I myself still have two more shoots to go on wednesday and thursday, and I haven't even finished packing for fuck sake.

My second book is revised, the unrevised one looked terrific and I'm still waiting for the final version. It's 160 pages of my selected work on the last 5 months. Hope agency is satisfied. They better be. I've shed blood and tears, got heartbroken, not slept or eaten, and tortured myself in the making for the freeking 5 months.

And as I flipped the pages, I remembered the people who put their love on it. Without them, it will never finish.

Last thursday, the wonderful girls and boys helped me with my last photoshoot. For those who haven't known, I am leaving the country in less than a month. I will be back to Asia to start my new adventure in a commercial photography agency for four years. So if anyone happens to drop by Singapore, Shanghai and HK, drop me a line

Hopefully it won't be a sad goodbye for me, a new chapter will start, and for now, let me share with you the last chapter :)
